International activities
The mission of Luovi Vocational Colleges international activities is to provide students and staff with equal opportunities to participate in international activities both at home and abroad.
We foster students abilities to interact with people from different cultures. International activities lead to additional employment opportunities and enhance quality of life. Students can increase their competence in new operating environments through on-the-job learning periods abroad, participation in projects and study visits.
We also offer opportunities to participate in international activities here in Finland. We welcome student and expert groups, promoting the spirit of reciprocity. This is also how we increase awareness of Finnish education and training abroad. Other important areas of international activities include global education, immigrants and participation in activities in support of international student exchanges.
We promote internationalisation for our staff by providing language and cultural training, expert and teacher exchanges, professional development placements abroad, opportunities to work as facilitators of student exchanges and in-service training.
We also play an active role in international organisations and national networks promoting development of activities. The European Platform for Rehabilitation (EPR) aims to develop products and services for vocational rehabilitation and special needs education, promote new working methods and anticipate future customer needs. The European Forum of Vocational Education and Training (EFVET) and the International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) are co-operation networks operating in the field of vocational education and training.
